Douglas- Mark E. “Maypo” Lauziere, 63, of C St., formerly of the Manchaug section of Sutton passed away suddenly on Thursday Nov 7, 2024 at home after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his 5 siblings Steven M. Lauziere Sr. and his partner Kimberly Derusha of Chipley, Fl, Gary Lauziere and his wife Judy of Shelbyville, Indiana, Albert H. Lauziere and his wife Bridgette of Princeton, NC, Lori A. Hemingway and her fiancé Edward Maguire of Manchaug, and Robert Lauziere and his partner Denise Ward of Dudley; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother in law David J. Hemingway and sister in law Constance (Therrien) Lauziere both in 2019.
Born in Worcester, MA on Aug 14, 1961, he was son of the late Roger H. Lauziere and Florence A. “Tootsie” (Bileau) Heffernan and was raised in the Manchaug section of Sutton. He lived in Douglas the past 5 years, previously living in Indiana 20 years.
Mark worked as a maintenance person for GBI Modular Homes and Ben’s Container and Rubbish in Douglas and formerly at the Manchaug Mills. He was educated in the Sutton public school system. Always kid oriented, he loved playing with his nieces and nephews. His hobbies included playing pool, walking, hiking, and kayaking.
Mark was taken too young but will live in our hearts forever.
His graveside funeral service will be held Monday November 18 at 11:30 am in St Denis Cemetery, 62 Manchaug St. Douglas. There will be a Celebration of his Life following in the Sokol Club, 405 NE Main St.Douglas.
