Douglas-Marion F. (Jones) Stebbins, 100, of Gilboa St. passed away peacefully at home on Wed. Aug.25, 2021 with her family by her side. Her husband of 50 years Charles S. “Stan” Stebbins died Dec. 27, 1990.
     She is survived by her four children Donna M. Jacques of Putnam,CT, Charles R. Stebbins, Robert E. Stebbins, and David J. Stebbins all of Douglas; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 6 great- great -grandchildren; 2 sisters Margaret Paquette of Worcester and Grace Laliberte and her husband Roland in Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Raymond, Walter, Edward, Dorothy, George, and she had twin children who died at birth. She also loved her numerous cats and dogs over the years.
     Born in Douglas, MA on Dec 11, 1921 she was the daughter of Raymond H. and Grace M. (Collins) Jones and lived in Douglas most of her life.
     A hard working woman, Mrs. Stebbins was employed at Hayward Schuster Woolen Mill many years. She later taught textile wool procedures at the Stanley Woolen Co in Uxbridge . She retired in March of 1985. 
     An outspoken “Warrior for the Lord” Marion was a longtime member at the Methodist Church in Douglas where she was a past Choir Director and sang at weddings and funerals. She had a wonderful voice and a love of music. She was a supporter of the Media Church of Jimmy Swaggart and loved how he “told it how it is”.
     She collected porcelain chickens and roosters, enjoyed getting out for rides, trips to the ocean, seafood, flowers, and baking. Her apple pies and date nut bread were her signature items. She also loved her annual fall family reunions. She was a member of the American Bible Society.
     Her Funeral Service will be held Mon. Aug. 30 at 11 am in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam, CT will be later at the family’s convenience. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sun Aug 29 from 4 to 7 pm.
