Marcus McDonald Obituary

Worcester- Marcus John McDonald, 36, passed away on Tuesday, July 16th 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Worcester after a period of declining health and a courageous battle with cancer.

       He is survived by his mother Kay McDonald of Inman, SC; his father, John Richard Cahalane of Salem, NH; brothers, Matthew Cahalane and his wife Caroline of Dallas, TX, Peter Cahalane and his fiance Rebecca of Boulder, CO, and Dean Cahalane of Hampstead, NH; his maternal grandmother, Inez Joan McDonald of St. Augustine, FL, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. 

       Born in Newton, MA on April 23, 1988 Marcus grew up in Bedford and graduated from Bedford High School class of 2007. He then furthered his education attaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting from Western New England University. Marcus had been working for St. Mark’s Preparatory School in Southborough in the accounting and payroll office.

       Marcus was a great person. He was a loyal and kind friend. He was easy going and honest, and enjoyed computer gaming and spending time and walking with his beloved dog Benny. He will be missed by his family. 

       His family will celebrate his life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcus’s memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue league, who have been excellent in helping Marcus’s family find his dog Benny, who had wandered off while Marcus was in the hospital .
