Obituary

Northbridge- Lucille P. Barber, 86, (Desjardin) passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023 at Advinia Care in Northbridge, with loving family by her side. She was predeceased by husband of 43 years, Harold Barber in 1999.

        She leaves 4 children, Richard Barber, Donna Coursey, Debra Bogdan and husband her Frank, and Susan LaCourse and husband Kenneth whom she lived with the last 4 years before her passing. She also leaves her partner of 20 years, Oscar “Al” Levielle and his family; her brother Richard and his wife Aline (Roy) Desjardin, 16 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friends. She was also predeceased by her brothers Leo and Donald Desjardin; her sister Eileen Busque-Desjardin, and her grandson Joseph Coursey Jr.

        Born in Woonsocket to the late Louis and Aline Desjardin, Lucille grew up in Blackstone and lived in Northbridge most of her life. She had worked at Tupperware, and as a CNA for St. Camillus eventually a full-time mom and homemaker. 

        During her younger years, Lucille enjoyed planting flowers, painting, and cleaning apartments while she raised her children. She loved family gatherings, Checkmate Polka dances, and Horse track-Suffolk Downs. As she got older, she enjoyed wintering in Florida with her partner Al, attending bike week, shopping, playing the lottery, and visiting Twin River Casino. She was a big fan of McDonalds and Pirates Cove. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to the AdviniaCare- Northbridge staff for their wonderful care, love, and compassion. 

        Her memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 3rd in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville from 8:30- 10:30 AM. Her graveside service will follow at 11AM in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
