Lorraine H. (Ross) Lavallee

Uxbridge-Lorraine H. (Ross) Lavallee, 91, of Upton Rd. passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at home. Her husband Joseph Alexander Lavallee died April 28, 1982.

       She is survived by three children John A. Lavallee and wife Linda of Lawrenceville, GA, Diane M. Deorsey of Whitinsville, and Lisa M. Lavallee and her significant other Brian Riley of Uxbridge; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Griffith of Woonsocket, RI.  She was also predeceased by 2 sons Francis J. Lavallee and Robert P. Lavallee; a grandson, Joseph Lavallee, and was sister of the late Marcel Ross, Joseph W. Ross, Eva Thurber, and George Ross.

       Born in Uxbridge on October 10, 1932, she was the daughter of Exziphir and Annette (Savage) Ross and lived here all her life. She was educated from Good Shepherd School and Uxbridge public schools. Primarily a homemaker, Lorraine worked for several area companies including Tupperware, Timex, Ethyl Corp., She also worked for the Uxbridge police Department as a crossing guard at Whitin and Taft schools.

       She was a woman of great faith and a longtime member of Good Shepherd Church, where she also taught Catechism. She enjoyed the outdoors, walking, crocheting, cooking, working with yarn and making latch hook rugs. Most of all however, Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family.

       Her funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge will be held on Monday, December 18th from 4-7 PM, and on Tuesday, December 19th from 10:30- 11:30 AM.
