Lorraine Bedard Obituary
Whitinsville- Lorraine P. (Dion) Bedard, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William A. Bedard in 2020.
She is survived by her son, Michael Bedard and his wife Brenda of Whitinsville; her daughter, Lynn Gagne and her husband John of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Michael, Tracy, Valerie, Gary Jr., and Jaime; several great- grandchildren; a sister, Claudette Beauchamp previously of Northbridge; a sister-in-law, Joan Bedard of Uxbridge, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son Gary W. Bedard in 1999; her grandson, Donald Bedard, and brothers, Lucien, Bill, and Henry Dion,
Born in Whitinsville, MA on September 12, 1938, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Beatrice (Roy) Dion and grew up in Whitinsville. She was educated from Good Shephard School in Linwood as well as the former St. Joseph’s Boarding school in Biddeford, ME. Mrs. Bedard was primarily a homemaker but did work as a computer typesetter for a local newspaper company, and as a waitress at Friendly’s. She was an avid reader, especially of cowboy and western novels, and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. In her younger years she enjoyed travelling, and visiting the casino with her late husband.
