Uxbridge- Lori E. (Cain) Briere, 66, of Pleasant St., passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at home after an illness.
She is survived by her three children, Stacie L. Levesque and her husband Joseph of Sturbridge, Andrew W. “Drew” Briere and his wife Stephanie of Whitinsville, and Caleb J. Briere and his girlfriend Valerie Grondin of Uxbridge with whom she lived; seven grandchildren-and one (Hailey) on the way- Joey, Ava, Brandon, Jace, Marlee, Elijah, and Delanie; her brother David R. Cain and his wife Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO; her longtime companion Robert Tognazzi; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen A. Danforth who died in 2008. Born in Woonsocket, RI, on April 16, 1959 she was the daughter of the late Richard E. Cain and Barbara (Bicknell) Bigelow and lived in Uxbridge all her life.
Lori was employed as a Sign Language Interpreter in the Providence public school system for over 20 years. Following this, she worked as a Nanny in Northbridge 14 years. She was educated at the former St. Mary’s School and Uxbridge High School, Class of 1977. She furthered her education at Maplewood Community College in Kansas City, where she studied Sign Language. She was proud of the fact that she had taken care of children her entire life. She always had numerous lifelong friends and enjoyed her yearly girls’ trips to Cape Cod. She loved spending time with her grandkids and family trips to the Rafters in South Londonderry, Vermont. She attended the Lifesong Church in Sutton.
Her Memorial Calling Hours will be held Saturday, November 15 from 1 to 3 PM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. A Prayer Service will be held at 3:15 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 77 Prescott Rd. Whitinsville at 4 PM.
