Sutton- Lillian A. (Graveson) Duclos, 91, died Sat. June 6 at Beaumont Nursing Home where she has been a resident for the past 5 months. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Elmer J. “Red” Duclos Jr. who died on Feb. 23, 1996. Lillian is survived by 4 children; Sharon R. Tankis of Whitinsville, Diana G. Seale and her husband Gene of Lawrenceville, GA, Brian R. Duclos and his wife Beverly of Sutton, with whom she lived for 30 years, and Patrick G. Duclos and his wife Cindy of Fort Meyers Beach, FL; a daughter-in-law Donna Clouette-Duclos; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, a brother Jack Graveson of Uxbridge and his wife Christine, her sister Rachel Bergeron and her husband Raymond, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Bob Duclos in 2010 and her son-in-law Jack Tankis in 2007, siblings Mary, Joseph, Germaine, Laura, and Edward “Butch”.
Born in Northfield, NH on April 23, 1924, she was the daughter of Edward and Marie Rose (Pellerin) Graveson, and spent her childhood in the Tilton/Northfield, NH area before moving to Sutton over 65 years ago. Primarily a homemaker, Lillian loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a passion for and taught many years the art of cake decorating and tole painting. She loved reading, doll collecting,cooking, baking, seamstress work, and feeding the Hummingbirds. A very skillful woman, she made clothes for her children when they were young and studied wordworking making furniture and dollhouses over the years. Some of her favorite past times were Bingo and going to the Casino to play the slot machines. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary VFW Post 1385 in Uxbridge and a member of St. Denis Church.
Her funeral will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Thurs. June 11 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St. Burial will follow in Veteran's National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 2:45 p.m. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Thurs. June 11 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to Beaumont Nursing Home, 85 Beaumont Dr., Northbridge, 01534.
