Uxbridge- Lillian A. (Lamontagne) Demers, 85, of Marion St. passed away Mon. July 7 at St. Francis Nursing Center in Worcester after an illness. Her husband of 66 years Norman H. Demers Sr. died Oct. 8, 2013.
She is survived by her 3 children, Sandra Gazaille-Lavoie and her husband David of Uxbridge, Cheryl M. Gantt and her husband Ken of Uxbridge, and Norman H. Jr. and his wife Lisa Demers of Sutton; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Born in Holyoke, MA on Jan 23, 1929 she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Galipeau) Lamontagne and lived in Uxbridge over 60 years. A graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester Lillian worked many years in the office and winding room at Bernat Yarn Co. in Uxbridge. She also worked for Wirefab Co. in Worcester, and Hopkinton Oil Co. Lillian was a private and kindhearted woman, she loved her family and her four-legged family. An avid reader she liked to knit, play cards, and do word puzzles
Her funeral service will be held Fri. July 11 at 10 a.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Burial next to her husband in the Veteran’s National Cemetery in Bourne, will be Tues.
