Kenneth Michna Sr. Obituary

Douglas- Kenneth J. Michna Sr., 78, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, of Cummings Ct., passed away on Thurs. March 5, 2026, suddenly, after being stricken ill.

     He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela S. (Perkins) Michna; his son Kenneth J. Michna Jr. and his wife Shelby of Florence, MA; 3 grandchildren, Drew Michna, Alexis Michna, and Ryan Michna; brother-in-laws, Chuck Harris of Douglas and George M. Kellen of Fairbanks, AK; sister-in-laws, Katherine M. Kellen of Fairbanks, AK and Glenda Perkins of Hendersonville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Dorothy Harris and Jack Michna and was predeceased by his sister-in-law Judy Harris.
 

     Born in Northbridge on Dec. 13, 1947, he was the son of John M. and Genevieve F. (Wojtalik) Michna and lived in Douglas most of his life. Mr. Michna was employed as a Pipeline Technician for the Exxon Mobil Co. for 41 years. He travelled extensively for his job, spending 5 years in Saudi Arabia as well as other locations. A 1967 graduate of Douglas Memorial High School, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, serving with Military Intelligence as a Spec 5 from 1968 to 1970. He was extremely proud of his service and belonged to the Joseph J. Michna VFW. He was also a 15-year member of the Douglas Police Dive Squad.    

     An avid sportsman, Kenneth was a member of the Douglas Fish and Game Club and an avid scuba diver in both the U.S. and the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. He was a member of St. Denis Church.

     Ken will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, filled with love and laughter, who always put his family first.

     His Funeral Service will be held Fri. March 13 at 11 am in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
