Joyce E. (Conn) Maffett

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce E. (Conn) Maffett, 75, of Toronto, OH. Joyce passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Advinia Care in Northbridge, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel L. Maffett, who passed away in 2017, after 39 years of marriage.

    Born in Steubenville, OH on September 24, 1948, Joyce was the daughter of the late Eugene Henry Conn and Marjorie A. (Couch) White, and she spent most of her life living in the Toronto, Ohio area. Joyce worked 15 years as an office secretary for the Federal Paper-Board Co. in Steubenville where she met her husband.  Before joining Wendy’s in Wintersville Joyce dedicated time to raising her family. 

       Joyce is survived by her children: Holly(Jesse Kosegi) Maffett of Wintersville, OH, and Casie (John Kim) Maffett of Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Edwin Kim and Agatha Kim, 3 sisters, Cindy (Jeff) Lussier of Northbridge, Susan (Robert) Latimore of Uxbridge, and Sherry Belanger of Whitinsville, along with several nieces, nephews, and in-laws. 

      Joyce loved spoiling her grandkids and bragging about them every chance she got.  She took great pleasure in gardening and maintaining her yard and beautiful flower gardens. Joyce was a frequent visitor of Ohio’s Amish country and enjoyed trips to the casino with her sisters and her best friend Lorie. She had a profound love for her dogs, evident to all who knew her. Her dog Chase will be left behind and will miss her greatly. Joyce was also a devoted fan to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

        In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
