Joseph A. Santa Maria

 Uxbridge- Joseph A. Santa Maria, 83, of Seagrave St., passed away on Mon. Dec. 29, 2025 at Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte A. (Hamelin) Santa Maria.

       He is also survived by his son, Joseph Santa Maria and his wife Lynn of Rutland; his daughter, Nancy Carlo of Douglas; his granddaughter, Samantha Carlo, and his great-grandson, Haiden Cloutier; his brother, John Santa Maria of Millbury; 2 sisters, Annette Santa Maria of Worcester and Annie DiVerdi of West Boylston, as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rose Puleo, Cornelia “Nellie” Martone, Mary Rucci, Esther Nozzolillo and 3 brothers, Frank, Michael, and Matteo Santa Maria.

       Born in Worcester on March 7, 1942 he was the son of Angelo and Nancy (Bisceglia) Santa Maria and was raised in Worcester, and lived in Uxbridge the past 60 years. Mr. Santa Maria was employed as a Salesman for Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. in their Milford office for many years, later working for Prudential Life Insurance Co. He also worked several years after retirement for Walmart. He was also an award-winning salesman for Chabot Motors in Millbury and for Fino Motors in Mendon. He was educated in the Worcester Public School system before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany.

          Joe was born with an innate ability to talk and enjoy conversation with anyone he met be it with his clients during his successful career as a professional salesman or simply anyone that he crossed paths with during the day. 

        His children have been proudly answering “Yes”to this question from strangers- “Are you related to Joe Santa Maria?”, their entire lives.

        His funeral will be held on Sat., Jan. 3, 2026 at 11 AM in St. Mary Parish, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
