Whitinsville-Jonathan E. Gouin, 43, a gifted writer, of Lake Terrace passed away on Tuesday September 19 at home.
He is survived by his son Jonathan J. Gouin of Whitinsville, whom he loved very much; his parents James E. Gouin of Webster and Jacqueline (Goggins) Gouin of Leicester; two sisters Jamie Skamarack of Worcester; and Christine Ozolins of Dudley. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. He was predeceased by his grandparents Edward J. and Lena M. (Furno) Gouin and John D. and Fay A. (Brown) Manning.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts on May 7, 1980, Jonathan lived in Whitinsville all his life. He was educated in Northbridge Public Schools and continued his education at Southern New Hampshire University, where he studied Communications.
Jon was employed as a Sports Correspondent for Stonebridge Press in Southbridge for five years. He attended and wrote about Worcester County high school and town league sports. It was a job he was well suited for and very much enjoyed. He had an artistic flair when it came to capturing the games and had stellar photography skills.
Jonathan enjoyed writing, cooking, photography and fishing but had a passion for all New England and Boston sports. Regardless of the season, Jonathan could be found watching whatever games were on or reading the day after highlights; so much in fact, he knew every statistic and pertinent fact about the teams and players.
His funeral will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Northbridge High School Athletic Boosters, 171 Linwood Ave. Whitinsville, MA 01588. To leave a condolence message for his family please visit www.jackmanfuneralhomes.com
