John Gonsorcik SR. Obituary

Whitinsville- John A. Sr., 94, of Union St. Linwood, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, after a period of declining health at his son’s home in Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor M. (Daige) Gonsorcik in 2016.

 

He is survived by 2 children John A. Gonsorcik Jr. and his wife Chris of Parrish, FL and Judy A. Kaske and her husband Steven of Florida; 6 grandchildren, James Gonsorcik and his wife Kaitlyn, Erik Hutchinson and his wife Nicole, Brian Hutchinson and his wife Dominique, Nicole Gonsorcik, Joshua Kaske and his wife Kristen, and Sarah Kaske-Smith and husband Jay; his brother, Andrew Gonsorcik of AZ; 6 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many good friends. He was the brother of the late Frances Jolda and Joseph Gonsorcik.

 

Born on July 13, 1930 in Douglas, John was the son of Joseph and Mary (Bombara) Gonsorcik, and grew up in Douglas. He was educated in the Douglas public school system. John was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving aboard the LST 602 in Korea and the USS Missouri. After his service, Mr. Gonsorcik worked as a molder and  machinist for Kennedy Die Castings in Worcester, and previously for Standard Lock Washer & Manufacturing Co. also in Worcester. He retired in 1995. 

 

John enjoyed attending polka dances with his wife, bus trips, breakfasts at Saint Patrick's church, events at the Northbridge Senior Center, summer concerts in Douglas MA and enjoying ice cream cones with his companion Anita Wheeler. He enjoyed going to the VA in Worcester and Millbury to have coffee and enjoyed sharing stories with fellow veterans. John was a longtime parishioner and acolyte of the former Good Shepherd Church in Linwood. 

John’s memorial funeral home service will be held in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35. Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Saturday, June 7th at 10:30 AM. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9-10:30. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to DAV, Disabled American Veterans: P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or at DAV.org
