John R. D’Alfonso

Uxbridge - John Richard D'Alfonso, 81, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Milford Hospital after a brief illness.

His is survived by his sister Mary Oliva of Milford, his brother Henry and his wife Elaine of Uxbridge; nieces and nephews Nicola and Dawna Oliva, their children, Angelina and Anthony; Gina Oliva Tarolli and her children, Zachary and his wife Lillian Tarolli, and Michael Tarolli; Carla Tuttle and her husband George and their children George and Benjamin Tuttle. He also leaves many friends and cousins especially Julia Gresco. John is predeceased by his brother Richard and brother-in-law Anthony Oliva. 

Born in Whitinsville, MA on November 22, 1941, Mr. D'Alfonso was the son of the late George and Sylvia (Romano) D'Alfonso. After graduating from from Uxbridge High School in 1959 and from Providence College in 1963, he served in the Peace Corp in Bogata, Columbia. He lived for many years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and held the position of Dean of Students at St. Gabriel's School there. John was a faithful parishioner of the former Good Shepherd Church in Linwood and recently of St. Mary's Parish of Uxbridge.

His funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 20th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Parish, 77 Mendon Street, Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
