Fitchburg/Whitinsville-Joel J. Thomas, 21, of Fitchburg, formerly of Whitinsville passed away suddenly at home on Sunday December 8, 2024.
He is survived by his parents Troy and Tracy (Kelley) Thomas of Fitchburg; 3 brothers Michael A. Thomas and his fiancé Emily Stone of Whitinsville; Troy Thomas II of Westfield, MA, and Raymond Thomas of Gardner; his paternal grandmother Janet Monderoy of Boston; 1 nephew; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born in Boston on September 2, 2003 he lived in Fitchburg the past 2 years, previously living in Whitinsville.
Joel worked for HMI Glass Company as a loader in their Worcester facility. Previously he was employed at Yatco Convenience Store, Dunkin Donuts and Walmart all in Whitinsville. He was funny, genuine, loving, and full of life. He always brought joy into his family’s lives. His hobbies included computers, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Family was most important to Joel however. He will be remembered as a fine young man, deeply focused on family.
