Douglas- Joan Marie (Girardi) Small, 88, of S.W. Main St., formerly of Framingham, passed away on Mon. Nov. 28, 2022 at Harrington Hospital after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Rudolph “Rudy” Small who died in 2011.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Small and his wife Sally of South Carolina, and Mark Small and his wife Patricia of Douglas; 5 grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Small both of Douglas, Emmalee Wolfe and her husband Nick of Saratoga Springs, NY, Tyler Small and his wife Jessica of Merrimack, NH, and Jessica Small of South Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Weston Daniel Wolfe and Emmalee Josephine Small, and many nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Girardi and his wife Lorraine Girardi, her Brother-in-law Donald Small and her great-granddaughter, Iris Elizabeth Wolfe.
Born in Buffalo, NY on February 5, 1934 she was the daughter of Mansueto and Josephine (Bova) Girardi, and grew up and lived many years in Buffalo. After her marriage, she and Rudy moved to Framingham where they lived many years. Mrs. Small worked as a store clerk for Neisner’s Variety Store, and later as an executive assistance working for Kraft Foods. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and going on trips to the casino. She was a woman of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Douglas.
