Joan M. (Powers) Conrad

Northbridge- Joan M. (Powers) Conrad, 91, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 after a period of declining health at Hope Hospice Center in Providence.

       She is survived by her 3 children, Christopher M. Conrad and his wife (Jeanne) of Woodstock, CT, Mark D. Conrad and his wife Candice of Kingsport, TN, and Teresa A. Flagg and her husband Ralph of Douglas. She is also survived by her caregiver and daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Weldon Conrad of Northbridge; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Flagg, Jason Flagg, Jennifer Conrad, Jamie Conrad, Sarah Elkins, and Michael Conrad; 7 great-grandchildren, Boone, Jason, Briana, Kali, Dahlia, Grayson, and Tyler, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brian P. Conrad, and siblings, Mary Francis Powers, and Richard “Dick” Powers.

       Born in Worcester on July 6, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Henry L. “Jeff” and Elizabeth F. (Casey) Powers and was a Northbridge resident all her life. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School. Mrs. Conrad worked as a secretary for the former Westboro State Hospital for many years until her retirement. Previously, she had worked for the Fair, Phillips Market, and the Kartaigner Hat Shop.

       Joan enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies, and TV shows including Murder She Wrote, Matlock and never missed the Price is Right. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and an animal lover. Above all, Joan treasured her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith and a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s church, where she also volunteered as a Lector.

       Her Funeral will be held on Monday, July, 21st at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 20th from 4-6 PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville.
