Jeannette Trudeau Obituary

Jeannette R. (Paquin) Trudeau, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, surrounded by immense love and care beside her family.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Raymond “Bonhomme” R. Trudeau; two daughters, Angela “Boom-Boom” J. Beaumier of Douglas, and Aimee “Babygirl” R. Trudeau-Racicot and her husband, David, of Putnam, CT; one granddaughter, Mia “Peanut” Beaumier of Douglas; a sister, Madeleine Lariviere of Woonsocket, RI; a brother, Andre Paquin of West Virginia; a special nephew, Matthew “Golden Boy” Paquin, and his wife, Tanya, of Danielson, CT, and their three children, Logan, Lorelai, and Leighanna; along with several other nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Ulric T. Paquin Jr., Robert Paquin, David Paquin, and Michelle Green.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, on September 8, 1948, she was the daughter of Ulric D. Paquin Sr. and Rejeanne (Robert) Paquin, and was raised in Manville, RI. She was educated in the Lincoln public school system. Prior to that, she attended Catholic school during her early years, attending Mass twice a day. She often went to Chick’s for a coffee cabinet after school.

Jeannette was primarily a homemaker, taking care of her husband, children, and granddaughter over the years. She worked for Hasbro Toys as a young woman, then later on as a spool girl for Manville Jinx Mill, and then opened a cleaning service where she worked for 15 years. She stopped working to take care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was known for her quick wit and straightforward nature. She was truly a selfless woman who never complained, and had a generous heart, never asking anyone for anything. She loved being around her home. Her family was the center of her life and heart, and they filled it with laughter and warmth whenever possible. She loved her daily phone calls with her nephew Matthew and often talked for hours on end through the day and into the night. She shopped with her youngest daughter, Aimee, at Bath and Body Works, Sat and watched “Great British Bake Off” with her eldest, Angela, and played cards at the kitchen table. She and her granddaughter were often found together—whether it be driving her to school, building Legos when she was younger, and taking her to the lake in the early morning to swim. She loved watching YouTube videos and true crime shows at night.

Her home was often filled not only with laughter and music, but also with cooking and baking. During holidays, she would make homemade gnocchi, marguerites, and icebox cake. She could often be found in the kitchen preparing food for her husband and children, always keeping them fed after long days of work and activities. She loved providing anything she could for her family to make them happy. In her later years, after retiring, her husband doted on her and provided the same love and care she had given everyone else, returning it to her tenfold.

Her husband, Raymond, was her heart and first love. She cherished him like no other. He was by her side through her chemotherapy treatments and doted on her throughout. She would do anything to make him happy. Their song together was “The Rose” by Conway Twitty. They got married in Saint James Church in Manville, RI, and have not looked back. They have been supporting each other for 56 short years, through thick and thin, love and loss. He was her soulmate and lifelong partner.

She cherished spending time at her cabin in Redfield, NY where she enjoyed being outside, stacking wood, and watching and feeding the birds, her favorite being hummingbirds and cardinals. She often sat with her husband rocking on the cabin porch, sharing coffee and listening to music throughout the night, alongside her dog, Boo. She took great pride in her French heritage, enjoyed crossword puzzles, clamming, and quahogging. She was a woman of great faith, and prayed the rosary daily. She was a 36-year resident of Douglas and loved every minute on the lake in their family home of 32 years.

She will be missed in her family’s day-to-day lives. She leaves her family in love and warmth, and she will always remain in their memories.

“Until we meet again. Rest in peace, Sweetie.” - Raymond Trudeau.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Burial will be held in St. Jean- Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
