Uxbridge- Jeanette S. “Jay” (Frabotta) Stanovich, 91, of W. Hartford Ave., passed away on Wed. Nov. 17, 2021. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 43 years, John L. Stanovich in 1995.
She is survived by 2 sons, John L. Stanovich Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Jeffrey Stanovich and his wife Maisy of Capitan, NM and Dartmouth, MA and their daughter Maegan; her daughter, Janice E. Rogers and her husband Dan of Cumberland, RI; grandsons, James and Damian Stanovich of Chicopee, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son James N. Stanovich in 1983 and was sister to the late Nicholas, Felix “Lolly”, and Christopher Frabotta.
Born in Uxbridge on September 16, 1930 Jeanette was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary (DeTiberiis) and was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High school Class of 1947, and Boston University in 1951, with a Bachelor’s Degree in general studies.
Jay was primarily a homemaker who loved family gatherings. An avid cook, she baked sweets for her husband and kids nearly every day. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, hanging out with her friends, and Dunkin Donuts Coffee. Jeanette and John traveled the country in their motor home when the kids were grown. After her husband’s passing, she filled her time as a daycare provider at the former Uxbridge Early Childhood Center, and volunteered at the Uxbridge Senior Center for many years.
A woman of great faith, Jay was an active parishioner of Good Shepherd church and sang in the choir, served as a lector, and took a leadership role in the former Good Shepherd School Parent’s Guild. She was a longtime member and past president of the Uxbridge Women’s Club. She was an avid candlepin bowler. She spent many hours of many years in the Monday morning leagues and summer leagues at the Spare Time Lanes in Whitinsville, having bowled as recently as January 2021.
Jeanette’s Funeral Mass will be held on Mon. Nov.22, 2021 at 11 AM in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uxbridge. Calling hours will be held from Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Sun. Nov. 21 from 4-7 PM.
