Jean E. Legere

Whitinsville- Jean E. (Buczynski) Legere, 89, of Wing Rd., passed away peacefully on Sat., Nov. 26, 2022 with her family at her side. 

         She is survived by her son John R. Legere and his wife Suzann of Uxbridge; her daughter Doreen J. O’ Connell and her husband Terry of Tolland, CT; 4 grandchildren, Michael Legere, Nicole Polis, Brian O’Connell, and Jillian O’Connell, and 2 great-grandchildren Lennon Legere and Julia Polis. 

Born in Northbridge, MA on May 26, 1933 she was the daughter of Zeigi and Mary (Czelusniak) Buczynski and lived in the Northbridge area all her life. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1951 and worked several years for the former Whitin Machine Works. Later, Jean was employed many years at Certified Nursing Inc. as a Home Health Aide. 

Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family, and following all her grandchildren’s activities and events. She served several years on the board of trustees for the Whitin Community Center. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and was a member of their bereavement ministry.

Her family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of the Lydia Taft House for their outstanding care and support shown towards Jean in the past year. 

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 30th at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville will be held prior to Mass from 9- 10:30 AM.
