Sutton- James E. “Jim” Nugent, 67, of Sutton passed away on Mon. Feb. 14, 2022 after a battle with Dementia & Parkinson's Disease.

    He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lucille “Lucy” (Lavoie) Nugent; 2 step-children, Lisa Santiago and her husband Jean of Douglas, Crystal McManus and her significant other James Kuchinski of Sutton; 6 grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Nugent and his wife Marianne of Arlington; 3 sisters, Nancy Buck and her husband Leo of Southborough, Kelly Whitney of Holden, and Pam Frechette and her husband Dan of West Boylston; many nieces, nephews, and good friends. His step-son Chad McManus predeceased him in 2019.

    Born in Boston, MA on Oct. 14, 1954 he was raised in Hopkinton and lived in Grafton for 22 years before moving to Sutton. He graduated from Hopkinton High School class of 1973. Jim worked throughout his life as a Master Plumber, owning and operating with his brother Arthur, Paul C. Hooper Co. out of Wayland, MA.

    Always social, with a good sense of humor, Jim was fun to be around. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting and was a life member of the Woodville Rod and Gun Club. He was a past member of the Worcester Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4311, and the Harley Owners Group H.O.G. Charter. 

    According to his wishes Jim was cremated, and a Celebration of his life will be held on March 5th at Lisa’s home, 284 Main St., Apt. 2, Douglas (behind the Webster First Bank) from 1-4 PM.
