Douglas- James Philip Deery, 66, of Douglas, MA died in his home on Thurs. May 19 after an illness. Jim was born on January 7, 1956 in Worcester, MA. He graduated from Northbridge High School in 1974 and went to work for the Whitin Machine Works. After several years working there as a skilled machinist, he joined Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester, from which he retired in 2018.
Jim was an avid catch and release fisherman and turkey hunter. When he wasn’t in the woods or on his fishing boat he was riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of the Blackstone Valley Beagle Club.
He is survived by his two sons Jeffrey Deery of Malden, MA and Jonathan Deery and his wife Ashley of Canton, MA; his sister Mary Brochu and her spouse Timothy of Millbury; and a niece Olivia Brochu of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dorothy (Piercy) Deery, and his brother Paul Deery.
