Gustave Fiore Obituary
Uxbridge- Gustave J. “Gus” Fiore, 97, of East St. passed away on Friday November 24, 2023 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after an illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Evelyn L. (Greenwood) Fiore; two sons Mark A. Fiore of Pascoag, RI and David J. Fiore of Griswald, CT; two daughters Paula M. Selkridge in Florida and Lorna J. McWilliam of Webster; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Gino Fiore and Lola Tessier. Born in Harrisville, RI on September 18, 1926, he was the son of John A. and Marie (Quercisi) Fiore and lived in Uxbridge 29 years.
Mr. Fiore worked as a Tailor with his father for Fiore’s Tailors in Harrisville, RI. He later worked at Robert Hall Co. in N. Attleboro and Montecello Co. in Providence.
Gus was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, served 20 years in the Navy Reserves, and was a member of VFW Post 1385 in Uxbridge. He loved big band music, dancing with his wife, and his family. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
