Uxbridge – Gloria M. (Blouin) Bentley, 99, formerly of Pulaski Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Blackstone Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Whitinsville. She was the wife of the late John F. Bentley Jr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage before his passing on November 21, 2008.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly J. Romasco of Whitinsville; her granddaughter, Kellie Hanscom and her husband Jason of Uxbridge; her great-grandchildren, Jesse W. Hanscom and Abigail R. Hanscom; her sister, Janet P. Malkasian of Whitinsville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Veronica N. Durso, in 2014; her sons-in-law, Dennis N. Romasco and Anthony Durso; and her sisters, Joan L. Steele and Constance M. Campo.
Gloria was born in Whitinsville on January 20, 1927, the daughter of Archie and Rose “Eva” (Ouellette) Blouin. She was educated in the Northbridge school system and resided in Uxbridge for 72 years. Mrs. Bentley was employed as an Office Administrator for over 20 years, working in the dental field with Dr. William Barron and Dr. Edward Swiderski, and retired in 1987. Earlier in her career, she was employed for five years at Westboro State Hospital.
Gloria greatly enjoyed traveling and served as Vice President of the Royal Travelers of New England. She also liked going on casino trips with Laura, Joan, and Honey. She was also an avid polka dancer, traveling extensively and sharing her love of dance by teaching lessons alongside her husband. A woman of simple joys, one of her favorite things to do was read on her porch. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Parish.
