Germaine Leona (Tessier) DiCrescentis passed away on August 25, 2013, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge, MA after a short illness. Germaine was born on January 9, 1918 in Northbridge, MA to Louis and Anna Tessier. Her father worked in construction in the Northbridge area and her mother was a homemaker. Germaine has been a resident of Uxbridge for the last 60 years.
Germaine was a homemaker who spent most of her time raising her five children. Her husband Alphonse DiCrescentis of Milford was a veteran of WW2 and worked in the Blackstone Valley area as a music teacher who specialized in string instruments. Germaine was an active member of the Church of Good Shepherd. She was in the Church choir and she was also a catechist at the Church for a number of years. She was a member of the Blackstone Valley Heritage Chorale and the Uxbridge Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, bowling, sewing and baking. She devoted much of her time and energy taking care of relatives including her mother, Anna, who passed away at age 101. Germaine is survived by 5 children: Ann DiCrescentis of Uxbridge of whom she lived with; Philip and his wife, Peri, of Seattle, WA; Alphonse of Milford, MA; John of Mendon, MA; Louis and his wife, Darlene, of Uxbridge, MA, and 6 grandchildren Lisa, Louis, Alex, Erica, Matthew, and Grace.
Germaine was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse DiCrescentis, her brother Laurent Tessier and her grandchild John DiCrescentis Jr.
The family would like to thank the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and the Salmon Hospice Care personnel for their care and kindness in Germaine’s final few weeks.
Her funeral will be held on Wed. Aug. 28 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd.,Uxbridge with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A calling hour at the funeral home in Uxbridge is Wed. Aug. 28 from 9:30-10:30 am.
