Uxbridge- Gerald P. “Gerry” Baillargeon, 81, of Oak St. passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at home after an illness. His wife of 35 years, Linda (Belmonte) Harris-Baillargeon died April 24, 2021.
He is survived by five children Stephen and his wife Tammy Baillargeon of N. Attleboro, Duane and his wife Robin Baillargeon of S. Attleboro, Sherry Bryant of Chepachet, RI, Brian Harris Jr. of Bellingham, and Tony and his wife Julie Harris of Uxbridge; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his sister Doreen Kelbaugh of Uxbridge and several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He also leaves his beloved 4-legged companion, Toby. He was brother of the late Wayne Baillargeon. Born in Old Town, ME on June 22, 1943, he was the son of Napoleon “Nap” and Cora (Tash) Baillargeon and grew up and graduated from Old Town High School. He has been a resident of Uxbridge for the past 45 years.
Mr. Baillargeon worked as a Union truck driver for many years. He started his career as a long-haul driver and later worked locally for several firms such as George J. Summers.Trucking, Helen’s Fuels, and Rosenfeld Concrete Co. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 and was an avid Patriots fan, who enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes in the VFW League. He also enjoyed taking long rides in his pickup trucks most time with his beloved wife by his side. In more recent years he was joined on his driving adventures by his sister or sons. He was a good man with a great sense of humor. His cowboy hat, boots, and belt buckles were his signature look.
His funeral will be held on Monday, September 30th at 11AM in Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior to his service from 9-11 AM.
