Shrewsbury – Gary J. Gray, 67, previously of Manchaug passed away suddenly on Mon. Jan. 23, 2017.
He is survived by his 6 daughters, Bridget E. Rivers and her husband Lincoln of Millbury, Geri L. Haggett of Worcester, Jill A. Gray of Worcester, Nikki M. Barrette and her husband Michael of Whitinsville, Chelsey R. Poulin of Webster, Lindsey M. Poulin of Oxford, 7 grandchildren, Dillon, Brittany, Alex, Barbara, Dante, Jacobe, Aiden, and a great granddaughter Kayla; 2 brothers James S. Gray, Jr. and his wife Susan of ME, Russell Gray and his wife Barbara of Douglas; sister Carol A. Gray of Whitinsville, his former wife and life long friend Elizabeth A. (Greeno) Bennett of Webster; nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and many many friends. Born in Worcester on Sept. 2, 1949 he was the son of the late James S. and Blanche P. (Bessette) Gray, Sr. and grew up in the Manchaug section of Sutton and raised his family in Oxford.
He was a graduate of Sutton High School, Class of 1967 and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. as a Lance Cpl. during the Vietnam Era. Gary dedicated his life to the Veterans and was working at Vets, Inc. in Shrewsbury as a resident assistant and case worker for the last 3 years. His passion was fishing, cooking, and baseball. In his younger years, he played on local softball leagues and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
