Whitinsville- Frederick E. Ford Jr., 73, of Willow St. passed away Saturday March 8, 2025 at Miriam Hospital in Providence after an illness.
He is survived by his longtime companion of 15 years Cheryl A. Brodeur with whom he lived; his brother Matthew Ford and his wife Gabi of Clearwater, FL; his nephew Alexander Ford of Clearwater, FL; several cousins; many good friends; his cat Magnolia; and his Havanese dog Bailey. Born in Providence, RI on April 18, 1951 Fred was son of the late Frederick E. Sr. and Edna (Laboissonniere) Ford. He was raised in N. Providence and lived in Whitinsville and Uxbridge with Cheryl the last 15 years. He also lived in Cumberland, RI where he had many wonderful neighbors who became good friends.
Mr. Ford worked as a truck driver for NorthEast Electrical Distribution Co. of Brockton for 15 years, retiring in 2017. A graduate of N. Providence High School, Class of 1969, he enjoyed the NE Patriots and his numerous Maltese dogs over the years. He could often be seen walking his furry friends in his neighborhood.
Music was a big part of Fred’s life. He enjoyed playing the guitar and the music of Eric Clapton, Santana, and the Winter brothers. He and Cheryl often went to estate sales and flea markets for fun. It was something they both enjoyed. He was a communicant of St. Mary Parish.
His Memorial Funeral Mass will be held Saturday March 22 at 11 am in St. Mary Church, 77 Mendon St. Uxbridge. Burial in Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, RI will be at a future date. Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge are Saturday March 22 from 930-1030 am. Memorial donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler St. Boston, MA 02116.
