Uxbridge – Francis T. “Fritz” Conley, 83, passed away on Sun. Jan. 1, 2017 at Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge after a long illness.
He is survived by his loving wife Lillian C. (Senkarik) Conley; his son Stephen J. Conley of Naples, FL; and many friends. Born in Woonsocket, RI on Feb. 3, 1933 he was the son of Francis and Germaine (Cardin) Conley and was a graduate of Blackstone High School, Class of 1950 and Dean Academy in Franklin, graduating with high honors. In his younger years, he worked in sales for John Hancock and Liberty Mutual, as well as Wright's Chicken Farm in Slatersville, RI almost 20 years. Fritz went on to own and operate his own hearing aide business until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Fritz was an avid sports fan of all the New England teams. He enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, and golf and coached basketball at Blackstone High School. He loved reading and travelling with his wife, spending the last 20 winters in Naples, FL where he and his wife enjoyed an occasional afternoon at the dog track. He was a member of St. Denis Church.
