Frances Tancrell Obituary

Whitinsville- Frances J. “Fran” (Leduc) Tancrell, 82, of Prescott Rd., a caring homemaker and independent artist, passed away peacefully at home on Thurs. Sept. 9, 2021 after a long illness. Her family was by her side.
     She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Eugene R. Tancrell; her daughter, Jennifer L. Tancrell of Cummington, MA, and James A. Tancrell and his wife Stephanie of Costa Rica; 3 grandchildren, Zachariah D. Tancrell, Esther M. Tancrell, and Tobias A. Tancrell; her niece, Tammy Caron, and close family friend, Harmony. She was predeceased by a brother Edward Leduc. Born in Uxbridge, MA on Jan. 4, 1939 she was the daughter of Theodore and Thelma (Cook) Leduc, was raised in Uxbridge and has lived in Whitinsville the past 55 years.
     Primarily a homemaker, caring for her family, Fran also worked in the Insurance Dept. for Uxbridge Savings Bank. An independent artist, she was involved with and was the Treasurer of the Village Crafters Co-Op, where she also taught classes. Her tole paintings, crafts, and needlework were exquisite. She also worked as a Substitute Art Teacher for OLV School over the years. A graduate of Uxbridge High School in 1956, she was proud of her education, particularly her math skills. She loved being a member of St. Patrick’s Church and was involved and their Bereavement Ministry, Fall Festival, bake sales, decorating inside and caring for outside flowers and plants. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, canning, and pickling too. A skilled seamstress, she made clothing, stoles, vestments, and baptism gowns for her church. She traveled with her husband to Ireland, Hawaii, Europe, and even toured the Mississippi River on a Paddleboat. Her faith and family were most important to her. She was a true role model.
     Her graveside funeral Service will be held on Mon. Sept. 13 at 1:30 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uxbridge. There are no calling hours.
