Esther Patnode Obituary

Whitinsville-Esther R. (Dantino) Patnode, 94, of Plummer Park passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at home after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years Milton E. Patnode who died on May 21, 2024
        She is survived by her son Milton Frank Patnode of Douglas; 2 daughters, Debbie Ann Zimmerman of Palm Coast, FL, and Jean Marie Romeiro and her husband John of Babson Park, FL; 4 grandchildren, Tina Patnode, Heidi Georges, Shawn Zimmerman, and Miranda Romeiro; 5 great-grandchildren, CJ Beauvais, Calvin Aia, Addison Trottier, Mia Minichiello, and Atavia Georges; a brother-in-law, Thomas Patnode of Northbridge; sister-in-laws, Theresa Lequesne of Douglas, and Joyce Jacobs of Linwood, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Francis Milton Trottier, and sisters, Gloria Matkowski, Mary Dantino, Rose Guertin, Norma Piccirillo and Antonette Gervasi.
     Born in Milford on May 30, 1930 she was the daughter of Francesco and Margherita (Iennachi) Dantino and was educated from Milford public school. She has been a longtime resident of Northbridge. Mrs. Patnode worked as an assembler for Telechron, Timex, and General Electric out of Ashland for 30 years.
       She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was in a quilting group where she made lots of beautiful quilts for family members and friends. Health conscious, Esther liked to eat fresh and exercise, and even went out square dancing back in the day. She Mrs. Patnode was a woman of great faith and a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church.
       A combined Funeral Mass honoring both Esther and Milton will be held on Friday, June 28th at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville MA 01588. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation’s in Esther’s memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, Prayer Shawl ministry.
