Eleanor M. (Seagrave) Lyness

Uxbridge- Eleanor M. “Meme” (Seagrave) Lyness, 89, passed away on Fri. Nov. 12, 2021 at Lydia Taft Nursing Home after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Donald Lyness in 1979.

       She is survived by 4 children, Mark F. Lyness of Dryden, Virginia, Jeffrey D. Lyness and his wife Dianna of Northbridge, Greg M. Lyness and his wife Katrice of Uxbridge, and Lisa A. Mann and her husband Daren of Grafton; 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Hillary, Matthew, Jeffrey Jr, James, Justyne, Taylor, and Dylan; 3 step grand-children, Alicia,  Tabitha, Jordan; 3 great-grandchildren, Nolan, Caylynn, and Penelope Eleanor; 4 step great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Donovan, Julian, and Jackson; siblings, Mary O’Connell, Alberta Barber, Olive Ross, Walter Seagrave, and Mason Seagrave all of Uxbridge; and many nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her son, Gary Lyness in 2013.She was sister of the late 7 siblings, Barbara Camponelli, Alpheus Seagrave, Dorothy Cimochowski, Susan Carmody, Ethel Fenner, Ruth Bergeron, and Edith Boucher.

       Born in Uxbridge on May 29, 1932 she was the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Blackburn) Seagrave and grew up and lived her whole life in Uxbridge. Eleanor was primarily a homemaker but worked many years as a molder for Tupperware in Grafton. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus and playing cards with her grandsons. Family was everything to her, and her happiest times were spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

       Eleanor’s memorial calling hours from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd, Uxbridge will be held on Mon. Nov 22nd from 4-6 PM., and an additional calling hour will be held Tues. Nov. 23rd from 10-11AM. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge.
