Eleanor Lamoreaux Obituary

Whitinsville - Eleanor B. (Patterson) Lamoreaux, 85, of N.W Main St., Douglas, passed away peacefully at home on Sun. April 2, 2023. Her beloved husband of 42 years, Albert A. Lamoreaux died Oct. 20, 1998.

            She is survived by a son Albert D. Lamoreaux and his wife Kathryn of Whitinsville; 3 daughters, Deborah A. Manning and her husband Russ of Douglas with whom she lived, Susan M. Jackson and her husband Ken of Uxbridge, and Marianne Bellerose and her husband Daryl of Cumming, GA; 11 grandchildren, Allyssa Mannino and her husband Bart, Jeremy Manning and his wife Myssi, Patrick Manning and his wife Kelly, Daniel Lamoreaux and his wife Sarah, Michael Lamoreaux and his wife Ellen, Katelyn Blunt and her husband Bill, Sarah Jackson, Stephen Jackson, Jacob Bellerose, Lindsay Bellerose, and Eric LaRocque; 11 great- grandchildren, Annabella, Lea Kate, Hanna, Luke, Kali, Joseph, Madelyn, Evelyn, Benjamin, Harrison, and Lincoln; 2 sisters, Ann Michaud and her husband Joseph of Northbridge and Diane Creighton and her husband Joseph of Whitinsville; 2 brothers, Robert Patterson and his wife Tamre of Prescott, AZ and Joseph Patterson and his wife Sandra of Flagler Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Gregory Tessier, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Brian A. Lamoreaux; 2 grandsons, Nicholas Jackson and Andrew Lamoreaux; her sister, Lucille Tessier; 3 brothers, James Patterson, Marc Patterson, and William Patterson, and sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Patterson, and Elaine Patterson.

Born in Whitinsville, MA on January 7, 1938, she was the 4th child of 9 children born to Marc and Beatrice (Nolet) Patterson and grew up in Linwood. Eleanor was educated at the Good Shepherd School and Northbridge High School. She lived most of her life in Linwood and Whitinsville until moving to Douglas with her daughter in 2016. Always a hard worker, Eleanor worked for Westboro State Hospital, Alternatives Unlimited, General Electric/ Telechron, and then after retirement for the St. Agnes Guild where she worked well into her 70s.

            She enjoyed traveling especially on vacation to Hawaii with her brother Bob, and spending time at the ocean on Cape Cod and York, ME. She loved her family and holiday gatherings, going to lunch, and her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

            Her Funeral Mass will be held Wed. April 5 at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to: United Presbyterian Church, Peace of Bread, 7 Spring St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
