Whitinsville- Edward A. Fitzgerald ,82, of Main St., passed away on Fri. Jan. 7, 2022 at Milford Regional Hospital after being stricken ill at home. 

       He is survived by 5 siblings, James Fitzgerald of Whitinsville with whom he lived, William Fitzgerald of Worcester, Mary Bruso of Oxford, Theresa Lavalley of Thompson, CT, and Kathleen Gardner of Oxford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great- niece and nephews. Edward was predeceased by 3 brothers, Paul, Donald and Francis Fitzgerald. Born in Northbridge on December 12, 1939 Ed was son of the late Francis and Mary (Rumrill) Fitzgerald and was a lifelong resident of Northbridge, and attended Northbridge Public schools.

       Ed proudly served in the U.S. Army after being drafted during the Vietnam War era. After his service, he worked many years for the former Felter’s Mills in Millbury as a machine operator. He was an avid New England sports fan who also enjoyed fishing and bowling in his younger years. 

       As to his wishes, Edward will be cremated and there will not be services. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
