Edward M. Driscoll, formerly of Theresa Circle in Whitinsville, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Port St. Lucie after a brief illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Nancy (Labrie) Driscoll; four sons: Michael Driscoll and his wife Lori Henry of Newport, RI, Christopher Driscoll and his wife Rachel of Milford, MA, Matthew Driscoll and his wife Carolyn of San Jose, CA, and Joseph Driscoll of Sutton, MA; five grandchildren: Luke, Jenna, Maeve, Sullivan, and Lilah; two sisters: Mary DeYoung of Stonington, CT, and Kathleen Malliarakis of Arlington, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Whitinsville on February 11, 1943, Edward was the son of Charles E. "Luke" and Florence M. (Sullivan) Driscoll. He resided in Port St. Lucie from 2006 until his passing. Edward attended St. John's High School and later Worcester Academy. He began his career shortly after completing his education, joining Massachusetts Electric/National Grid as a crew leader. Over his 40-year tenure with the company, Edward demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication, retiring in 2004. He took great pride in representing his union brothers, serving as president of Local 329 for approximately 20 years and as Executive Vice-President of the BUW Council from 1994 to 2004.
A man of deep faith, Edward attended weekly services with his wife Nancy throughout their marriage. He was devoted to serving his community and parishes, volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister and Marriage Encounter Leader. Most recently, he volunteered at Sandra's Kitchen, where he assisted in feeding the homeless.
Edward enjoyed softball and summer basketball, but his true passion was golf. Those who knew him understood that he was happiest on the golf course, savoring every round he played. He passed this love of the game to his sons and cherished the many rounds they played together. While Edward enjoyed coaching his boys in their youth, his greatest joy in later years was watching his grandchildren grow.
