Northbridge – Donald J. Nowlan, 85, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 after a period of declining health at Lutheran Rehab and Skilled Care Center in Worcester. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Patricia Ann (Cabana) Nowlan in 2011.
He is survived by 6 children, Debra Pollinger and her husband Paul of S. Grafton, Daniel Nowlan and his wife Cindy of Thompson CT, Doreen Lefort and her husband Shawn of Worcester, Cindy Proietti and her husband Ray of Northbridge, David Nowlan and his husband John Rauth of Uxbridge, Kirk Nowlan and his wife Valerie of Northbridge; step-children, Kelly and Marc, a sister Pauline Iguina of North Falmouth as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born in Northbridge on February 2, 1936 Donald was the son of Ovila and Lillian (Marchand) Nowlan and was a long time resident of Rockdale. He attended Northridge Public schools before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war era. He worked many years as an Assistant Buyer for NEC Technologies in Boxborough before retiring.
A huge music lover, Don was an avid member of the Valley-Airs Drum Corps, and managed them for several years, and even drove the bus for shows. In his younger years, he and his wife Patricia enjoyed going out and dancing often, they especially liked Rock n’ Roll bands. Some of his favorite music included AC/DC, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Dean Martin.
