Linwood- Donald A. Gosselin, 89, of Maple Ct., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026 with his loving family by his side, at Webster Manor Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elaine C. (Dupre) Gosselin; 3 children, Daniel Gosselin and his companion Tammy Lizotte of Linwood, Donna Zuidema and her husband Scott of Grafton, and Jeanine Kearney and her husband Stephen of Burillvillle, RI; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sons, James M. Gosselin who died in 2016, and Andrew J. “Andy” Gosselin who died in 2024; a granddaughter, Shannon Gosselin, and a sister, Barbara Anderson.
Born in Milford on October 16, 1936, he was the son of Eugene and Alice (Leboeuf) Gosselin and was raised in North Uxbridge. He was educated at Good Shepherd School and through the Uxbridge public school system. Following his education, Mr. Gosselin proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era as a mortarman in a heavy mortar unit with the 1st Battle Group, 29th Infantry. After his active service, he remained a member of the Army Reserves while working at the former Whitin Machine Works and later as a truck driver for Coz Chemical. He subsequently enjoyed a long career as a sorter for UPS in Shrewsbury.
In retirement, Mr. Gosselin worked for the Northbridge Public Schools as a bus driver until the age of 80, after which he continued serving the community as a bus monitor—a role he greatly cherished.
For more than 50 years, he and his family spent summers at their cherished “summer home” at Grandview Campground on Baxter Lake in Rochester, New Hampshire where they created lasting memories and friendships. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and spending time outdoors. Mr. Gosselin was a former second-degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus in Whitinsville and a member of Teamsters Union Local 170. A man of deep faith, he was a longtime member of the former Good Shepherd Church and, most recently, a parishioner of St. Mary Parish. A lifelong resident of Uxbridge, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Webster Manor Nursing home for their outstanding care and support over the course of his illness.
