Whitinsville- Diane K. (Morin) Massey, 86, passed away suddenly on Sun. April 23, 2023 after a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years Eugene R. “Gene” Massey; 6 children Linda D. Erickson, Sharon L. Susienka and her husband James, Brian J. Massey and his wife Annette, Susan M. Brouwer and her husband Thomas “Tucker", Jeffrey M. Massey, and Paul R. Massey and his wife Rica; 10 grandchildren Matthew Erickson, Michael Susienka, PHD, Jennifer Barksdale, Daniel Erickson, Meagan Brouwer, Marissa Massey, Natalie Massey, Christopher Brouwer, Tyler Massey, and Stephanie Massey; 2 great-grandchildren Camryn Barksdale and Oliver Susienka; a sister Lorraine Rutkiewicz; 2 brothers Wilfred “Bill” and Ronald Morin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son Steven E. Massey in 1960.
Born in Holden, MA on Nov. 2, 1936 she was the daughter of Wilfred W. and Katherine M. (Jatrinski) Morin and lived in Northbridge for most of her life. She also lived in Sutton.
Mrs. Massey worked for the Commonwealth of MA as a Computer Programmer in their Westborough office for 23 years. She later worked part-time at the Northbridge Town Hall and volunteered several years at the Sutton Town Hall. A graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1955 she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and taking trips with Foxy Travel. A longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church, Diane was a Eucharistic Minister and served on various committees. She was also a member of Knights and Maids.
Her Memorial Funeral Mass will be held Friday May 5 , 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St. Cremation burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Prior to Mass, calling hours will be held at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. from 9:30am to 10:30 am.
