Diane Creighton Obituary

Whitinsville- Diane R. (Patterson) Creighton, 76, of Douglas Rd., passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 after a period of declining health at Beaumont of Westborough. 

           She is survived by 2 daughters, Kimberlle A. Cota and her husband Chris, and Erica L. McCrohan and her husband Michael both of Uxbridge; 5 adored grandchildren, Chelsea Proulx and her husband Jared, Katherine Cota, Alexandria McCrohan, Patrick McCrohan and his wife McKayla, and Timothy McCrohan; her former husband Joseph R. Creighton Jr. of Uxbridge; 3 siblings, Ann Michaud and her husband Joseph of Whitinsville, Robert Patterson and his wife Tamre of Prescott, Az, and Joseph Patterson of Flagler Beach, Fl. She also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as great- nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Lucille Tessier and Eleanor Lamoreaux, and 3 brothers, Marc, James and William Patterson.

            Born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts on July 28, 1949, Diane was one of nine children born to Marc and Beatrice (Nolet) Patterson and was raised in the close-knit community of Linwood. She was educated at Good Shepherd School and Northbridge High School, graduating in 1966.

            Diane spent most of her life in Linwood and Uxbridge before moving to Whitinsville in 2015. She worked for many years as a receptionist at the Comtran Corporation in Whitinsville, where she was known for her kindness and friendly manner, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. 

            Diane enjoyed shopping, getting lost in a good book, and taking trips to the ocean—especially visits to Maine, which held a special place in her heart. More than anything, Diane loved her family. Time spent with them was her greatest joy, and her love, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

            Her family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Beaumont of Westborough as well as Salmon Hospice for their outstanding care and support shown to Diane during her illness. 

            In accordance with her wishes, Diane will be cremated. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 5th  from 9:30 to 10:30 at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross Street, Whitinsville, on Thursday, February 5th at 11 a.m. Private burial will take place at a later date in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
