Whitinsville- Delores D. (Lausen) Farmer, 94, formerly of Lake Terrace passed away on Friday December 5, 2025, after a long illness. Her husband of 64 years Gordon A. Farmer died June 6, 2022.
She is survived by 3 daughters DeAnne Roberts of Terre Haute, Indiana, Rev. Frances Graveson and her wife Jenn Albert of Uxbridge, and Theresa Braney and her husband Frank Braney III of Northbridge; 8 grandchildren Crystal Brytowski, Steven Roberts, David Roberts, Paul Roberts, Jeffrey Graveson, Frank Braney IV, Meghan Braney, and Emily Braney; 7 great-grandchildren Anna, Mason, Hailie, Caleb, Vanessa, Colton, and Alex; 2 sisters Vivian Thomas of S. Dakota and Beverly Komis of Minnesota; a brother Ronald Lausen of N. Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Mark Roberts and was sister of the late Donald Lausen, Bernice Lucas, and Darlene Yaggie.
Born in Sioux Falls, S. Dakota on February 20, 1931, Delores was the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Dozler) Lausen and was raised in Minnesota and S. Dakota. She had lived on Lake Terrace in Whitinsville 20 years.
Mrs. Farmer was a small business owner, working with her husband Gordon at Farmer’s Ice Cream Parlor in Milford and Whitinsville. There she baked delicious pies and treats. She later was employed at the former St. Camillus Nursing Home as a cook. She was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in Germany as a Sergeant. She was the first woman to ever pass rifle training at her training base.
Family was the most important thing in life to Delores. She showed her love through amazing meals; hours of babysitting; and always an open ear to everyone. She loved playing board games, puzzles, and card games. She was also skilled in crochet, creating beautiful works of art. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church and served on their Bereavement Ministry.
Delores would not want anyone to fuss over her, but we are going to fuss over her and celebrate her life and impact she had on all of our lives. Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday December 13, 2025 at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery will be private. A calling hour will be held prior to her Mass at St. Patrick’s Church from 9 to 10 am.
