Douglas- David J. Stebbins, 71, of Gilboa St., passed away unexpectedly on Tues., Sept. 19, 2023, after being stricken ill at home.
He is survived by his life partner and best friend of 34 years, Michael Simpson with whom he lived. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles and Robert Stebbins both of Douglas, and several good friends including his caretaker of the past 7 years, Brittaney Tourtellotte He was recently predeceased by his sister Donna M. Jacques and his aunts, Margaret Paquette and Grace Laliberte.
Born in Douglas on February 3, 1952 he was the son Charles S. “Stan” and Marion F. (Jones) Stebbins and lived his entire life in Douglas. He was a graduate of Douglas High School and furthered his education attending Quinsigamond Community College. He worked as an Optical Lab Assistant for Fallon Health Care out of Worcester for 19 years until his retirement in 2017. He was also a graduate of the Zion Bible Ministry and was a man of great faith.
He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era.
As to his wishes, his services will be privately held by the convenience of his family at a later date. He will be buried in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
