Cynthia Lee Marquette (Miller), 86, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 15, 2025. She passed peacefully in her daughter’s home in the constant company of her daughter and granddaughters.
Cynthia was born in Beltrami, Minnesota, on November 16, 1938. She told stories of playing with her twin sister Joanne and of growing up on their farm in Kelliher, Minnesota. After high school, Cynthia and her sister, Joanne, were waitresses at Daken’s Cafe in Kelliher, where she met her future husband, Bill Marquette. They moved to California where they were married and started a family. While raising her children Cynthia babysat in her early family life and later went on to work for Sacramento Valley Safe and Alarm. Bill and Cynthia moved from Sacramento to Massachusetts in their senior years and had the joy of being reunited and spending time with Kim and her family until their passing.
Cynthia loved the lord and in recent years found joy in being a member of First Baptist Church in Webster, MA, and always spoke of how wonderful her church community was and how truly fond of Pastor Doug and his wife Sharill she was.
At the gates of heaven, she will be greeted by her husband William “Bill” Lloyd Marquette; their children Ashley, Valerie, and Kelly; and their granddaughter Aimee; along with many brothers, sisters, family and friends.
She leaves behind her beloved twin sister, Joanne, and their sister, Marion; her daughter Kimberly (Marquette) Lockley and husband Allen; her son William Matthew Marquette, Sr., and wife Corin; her grandchildren Kristi, and significant other, Keith; Kattie and husband, Nick; Serina and significant other, Scotty; and William Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Keith Jr., Liam, Logan, Leah, Marc Jr., Maisie, and Carter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and for the beautiful holiday dresses she would pick out each year for her granddaughters. She never let a holiday or birthday go by without letting someone know how special they were to her and making sure they knew she was thinking of them. She love-love, loved her family and would help in any way she could, any time she could. Her legacy, for which she’ll always be remembered, is her great love for her family and the Lord.
Cynthia's graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th at 5 PM in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you offer a prayer of peace for all who Cynthia loved. She will be greatly missed.
