Uxbridge- Claudette T. (Gauthier) Boucher, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Lydia Taft House after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Arthur E. “Buster” Boucher, Jan. 8, 2023.
She is survived by her 3 children, Alan A. Boucher and his wife Linda of Douglas, Cynthia Wedekind and her husband Robert of Riverside, RI, and Rene Boucher and his wife Tammy of Douglas; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Louis and Rene Gauthier.
Born in Burrillville, RI on June 20, 1936, she was the daughter of Lionel and Lea (Breault) Gauthier and grew up in Woonsocket. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High school and the David Hale Fanning School in Worcester where she studied nursing. She worked for 35 years as a Geriatric Nurse at Worcester City Hospital, and then St. Francis Nursing home until her retirement in 1997. Previously she worked for G.E. Telechron in Ashland. She was a resident of Uxbridge for 68 years.
Mrs. Boucher belonged to the Red Hat Society, St. Mary’s Church and the former Good Shepherd Church. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to several leagues in her younger years. She canned her husband’s garden vegetables and won many blue ribbons for her recipes. She and Buster took many nice trips over the years, visiting places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. She will be remembered as a kind and affectionate wife, a fond mother, and a fun and adventurous grandmother and great grandmother.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge are Wednesday, March 20th from 4-7 PM.
