Douglas- Christopher M. Labelle, 44, of East St. in Whitinsville, formerly of Douglas, passed away Monday February 24, 2025 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a long illness.
He is survived by several aunts; uncles; and cousins; his close friend and caregiver Paula Hemingway and her fiancé Jemal; Paula’s children Isla Clarke and Kingston Clarke; Leeroy Bouvier whom Chris was guardian for, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his former girlfriend Libby DeLorey. Born in Milford, MA on August 19, 1980, Chris was son of the late Michael W. and Karen M. (Macchi) Labelle and was raised in Douglas. He lived in Whitinsville the past year and in Florida several years.
Christopher worked at EMC Corporation in Hopkinton in Information Technology and Tech Support before he became ill with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. He worked part-time at Vinny C’s Boylston Liquors during his illness. Educated in the Douglas Public School System, he was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Tech's Electrical Program, Class of 1998. His hobbies included watching the Patriots and Celtics, cars, fishing, and playing cards in the Sokol Pitch League. He loved his two cats Dexter and Buddy as well as his pet tropical tree frogs. Chris had a quirky sense of humor, was trusting, genuine, and loyal. He would help anyone out.
Chris will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched. He was taken too young but will live in our hearts forever.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chris's Life at the Sokol Club, 405 NE Main St., Douglas on on Saturday April 5th at 4PM. There are no calling hours.
