Charles D. Taylor

Millis— Charles "Chuck" Durwood Taylor, 79, of Millis, passed away peacefully in Framingham at the Casa de Ramana Rehab. and Nursing Center on Friday, June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Pauline C. (DeJordy) Taylor; two daughters, Anne-Marie Taylor of Falmouth, ME, and Christine Beaudry and her husband, Christopher, of Millis; and his cherished grandson, Ethan Beaudry, also of Millis. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Taylor of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was born on August 13, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, the son of  J.D. Taylor and Wilma Jean Taylor. He was raised and educated in Colorado Springs, CO and, following high school, proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 and in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1978. After relocating to Massachusetts, he continued his education and, in 1987, earned a Master's Degree in Human Services Management from Assumption College in Worcester.

Throughout his career, Chuck served his community in a variety of roles. He worked as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Northbridge Fire Department and also served with Worcester-Himmer Ambulance. He later worked as a life flight EMT for UMass before becoming a Radiology Film Technician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he remained until his retirement in 2012.

An avid stamp collector, Chuck maintained an impressive collection throughout his life, with a particular interest in stamps from the South Pacific. He was a devoted sports fan and could often be found watching a game, whether it was the Patriots or a televised Little League matchup. He enjoyed British mystery programs and occasionally watched a cooking show with Pauline. Fascinated by the art of locksmithing, Chuck was an active member of several locksmith organizations throughout New England, including serving on the Yankee Security Board of Directors and as a Life Member of the Clear Star Security Network. Though reserved and quiet by nature, he loved his family deeply, and they were the center of his life. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville, on Saturday, July 11,2026  from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
