Uxbridge- Charles A. “Chick” Dionne, 90, of East Hartford Ave., passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 with his loving family by his side. 

     He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Cecile R. (Poulin) Dionne; 3 children, Charles A. Dionne Jr and his partner Elizabeth Johnson of Inman, SC, Debra A. Dionne-Pilotte and her husband Robert of Uxbridge, and Mark A. Dionne and his wife Erin of Chesapeake, VA; 12 grandchildren; Lucas, Richard Boisvert and his wife Andrea, Rebecca Pollinger and her husband Nicholas, Elizabeth Adams, Matthew Boisvert, James Bosivert and his wife Erin, Katelyn Carbary and her husband Daniel, Jacob Dionne and his significant other Taylor, Madison, Christian, Jonathan and Morgan; 8 great-grandchildren, Calli, Cody, Aubrey, Landon, Lola, Dante, Jonah, and Jadi; and a great-great granddaughter, Milla; 2 siblings, Richard Dionne and his wife Nella of Mountain City, TN, and Sharon Richards and her husband Lawrence of Millbury, and several nieces and nephews. 

    Born in North Uxbridge, MA on February 11, 1932, Chick was the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Bowers) Dionne and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Uxbridge High School Class of 1949.     

    A proud U.S. veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, Chick was stationed in Germany, serving as an Airman First Class in the Military Police. Always a hard worker he was employed as an assembler for the former General Motors Plant in Framingham for 41 years. He later became a CNA and cared for the elderly. He and his wife also raised many foster children over the years.

     Charles enjoyed staying active in bowling and softball leagues, shooting hoops, and running road races. He was a frequent visitor of the Whitinsville Community Center. Chick was a kind, gentleman, with a dry sense of humor. Known for coming up with funny nicknames he enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese in back of his home and loved all of his dogs over the years. He will be remembered as the perfect family man who took great care of his family, especially Cecile.

    Charles funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 9th at 11AM in St. Mary’s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge will be held prior to mass from 9-10:30 AM.
