Whitinsville- Charles B. Adams, 73, of East St., passed away at home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his brother Christopher L. Adams of Vero Beach, FL, his nephew Shawn Adams of Sterling, MA, and his sister-in-law, Melodie Adams of Hubbardston, MA. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Marshall who passed in 1969, and his brother Ralston H. Adams Jr. who passed in 2005.
Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, on January 20, 1951, Charles moved to Whitinsville at age 8 in 1959 and has lived in town ever since. He was the son of the late Dr. Ralston H. Adams Sr. and Muriel B. (Barney) Adams. Charles was educated in the Northbridge public school system and graduated from Northbridge High School class of 1969. He furthered his studies by attending Worcester Art School, where he earned an Associate degree in fine arts, specializing in Classical and Modern arts.
Charles worked for Westboro State Hospital from 1969 to 1972 as a staff caregiver. He then worked in the print industry for Stonebridge Press-Blackstone Valley News Tribune, moved on to assisting the management of Eagle Printing in Whitinsville and finally in the print department for Classic Envelope in Sutton, where he was a graphic design artist. He retired in 2005. A talented and passionate local musician, Charles played electric guitar, bass, and keyboard in several local bands over the years. He also had a great interest in astronomy. He was a kind and gentle man and will be fondly remembered by all those who were close to him.
