Millville- Beatrice M. “Billou” (LaBonne) Meagher, 96, of Chestnut Hill Rd., passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life. Her husband of 46 years, Paul A. Meagher Sr., passed away on April 13, 2002.
She is survived by 6 children, Paul A. Meagher Jr. and his wife Denise of North Smithfield, RI, Anne Lavelle and her husband Keith of Silver Springs, Fl, Kathleen Howard of Millville, Brian Meagher and his wife Marie of Starks, ME, Mark Meagher and his wife Christine of N. Anson, ME, and Cynthia Meagher of Citra, FL; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born in Medway on December 29, 1928 she was one of 10 children born to Louis Sr. and Laurette (Girard) LaBonne. She was a graduate of Blackstone High School. Beatrice was raised on a farm in Blackstone and has lived in Millville since the age of 29.
A hard worker, Mrs. Meagher was employed for the former Rubber Shop in Woonsocket, and as the Head Cook for the Blackstone-Millville High School, where everyone referred to her as “Ma”. She was also a cook for several area restaurants over the years.
Beatrice enjoyed working on her farm, lovingly called “The Woodsmen Farm”, in Millville, tending to her property and mowing the lawn. She took pleasure in spending winters in Florida with her daughter and helping out with her farm. She found joy in horseback riding and spending time with her sisters.
