Barbara Majeau Obituary

Whitinsville- Barbara J. (Sheperd) Majeau, 87, of Prescott Rd., passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, following a period of declining health. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donald A. Majeau.

She is also survived by 3 children, Jeffrey N. Majeau and his wife Karen of Dudley, Marcia L. Skerry and her husband Brian of York, ME, and Sharon L. Midura and her husband David of Barnstable. She was a proud grandmother to Corey Majeau, Alicia Majeau, Evan Majeau and his wife Mikhala, Katherine Skerry and her fiancée Austin Timko, Caroline Skerry, Michael Midura, and Jenna Midura; and her great- grandchildren Max, Xander, and Ari Majeau. She also leaves 4 siblings, Robert H. Sheperd Jr. and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury, Jon Bradley Sheperd and his life partner Gail Metcalf of FL, Ellamae Parks- Rondeau and her husband Edmond of FL, and Suzanne Sheperd- Santori and her husband Sergio of GA, as well as many loving nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Born in Richford, Vermont, on October 19, 1938, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Gloria (Buckley) Sheperd. At a young age, she relocated to the Boylston/Shrewsbury area. She was a graduate of Major Howard W. Beal Memorial High School, Class of 1956.

Barbara was employed for more than 18 years as the Benefits Administrator for the former Whitin Machine Works/ATF Davidson Company. In retirement, she took great pride in managing the Trinity Band, in which her husband performed. The band brought joy and companionship to seniors in local nursing facilities and senior centers throughout the area.

In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed cooking and baking, and most especially cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her life. She was also a proud direct descendant of a passenger on the Mayflower. Family members remember her as “the one who cared, who asked about your life, remembered the details, and always showed up.” She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
